Tim Staump is a musician and visionary entrepreneur working in the music industry. A percussionist since age ten, Tim has studied from musicians like James Morton, Kirk Hoffmen, Tyler Dempsey, Mark Schulman, and Zoro the drummer. His inspiration comes from drummers like Buddy Rich, Dave Weckle, Jeff Hamilton, Carter Beauford, Zoro, and Steve Gadd just to name a few, Throughout his musical career, he has played for various orchestras, big bands, and drum corps. In addition, he has been a part of bands ranging anywhere from rock, to country, to hip hop. Currently, Tim is also endorsed by Vic Firth as an educator in their private drum teacher program, as well as their scholastic educators program. The private drum teachers program is designed for percussion educators who teach in a private setting, this program is geared to support further growth in percussive studies and product knowledge. The Vic Firth scholastic educators program is designed for scholastic percussion educators whose schools have established successful programs both in their region and nationally. Tim has taught musicians ranging in ages from 5 years to 70 years and he has been a drum instructor for several different junior highs and high schools throughout California.
