Highlight Bomb is an innovative band from Tacoma, Washington. They have an energized rock/ punk feel. Our first impression began with the album cover. Their name is very unique and we would love to find out what inspired the band name. Track one, "Flawed Model" grabbed our attention immediately. This track had energy and attitude. We enjoyed the change of feel in the middle of the song, and it transitioned nicely back into the chorus. The only thing we missed was some typed out lyrics, so that we could understand every word. Track 2 "Devolver" had some great drumming. The vocals felt a bit weak in this track. The voice didn't have the same amount of beef that all the instrumentation provided. This made the track feel a bit unbalanced. The instrumentation was solid on this track. Devolver ended strong. We love how track 4, "My Stride," starts. This song felt different from the rest of the album. This song had the most significant punk influence, and it was our favorite on the album. This style works well for Highlight Bomb. The vocals worked best with this energized punk feel. Track 5 was "Homeless Girl". This song had the most memorable lyrics. The words painted a vivid picture. This was the second strongest on the album. Track 9, "Program Brutalizer," is perfect for anyone who loves that screaming style! They scream A LOT on this track. The final track "Highlight Bomb" feels totally different then the rest of the album. This song was the most playful, and had an almost comedic vibe. Overall the album has a great length, not too long or too short. It is a fun listen and we recommend these Highlight Bomb to everyone!
