The inception of Cessation Of Life took place in 1996 in Camarillo, in the county of Ventura in Southern California. A group of metal fans who had been together in previous bands or knew of each other decided to get together. They began churning out some speed and thrash based metal which has become their own brand of High Velocity Speed Metal.

Since then Cessation Of Life has released three studio albums (”Aggressive By Nature/Destructive By Choice”, “Kill You Again”, and “The Glory Of The World Is Passing”), one live cd (”Cessation Of Live”) with the fourth studio album (”The Path Of Totality”) released August 26th 2008. Throughout the years, Cessation Of Life has also placed music on several compilation discs. Most recently Metal Maniacs September 2008 issue which includes a compilation disc with the song “Necropolis” the first single from “The Path Of Totality”.

Cessation Of Life’s live show has proven to be very entertaining and professional. Frontman / Vocalist Chris Violence with his energetic attitude knows how to rile up a crowd and deliver. The rest of the band Marty Mostad on guitar with his shredding style of leads, Justin Harrison’s pounding bass and Ron Ostlund’s hard hitting mechanized style of drumming prove to keep fans coming back.

Cessation Of Life has performed live in Ventura and Los Angeles counties too many times to list as well as most of the well known clubs in the Hollywood supporting well known acts in the same genre. Cessation Of Life has also completed five US tours starting in 1998. Cessation Of Life has also had much success in radio with airplay in 127 countries and college radio in the US. Also the website has had impressive numbers due to current events, and music and video downloads.

This current four piece band has always had their own distinctive sound and direction which sets them apart from the rest. Cessation Of Life is continually writing, rehearsing, recording, and performing as to keep in touch with the music scene today.
